Chandeliers: From Wrought Iron to Candle Styles

Shopping for a new chandelier can be a daunting task. There are just so many options on the market today. It doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it should a fun and enjoyable experience and in the end you will have the perfect fixture for your space.

Consider which room you are shopping for. Remember, chandeliers aren’t just for the dining room anymore. If you are looking for something to go in your living room, be sure to consider the ceiling height. If you have a nice tall vaulted ceiling, you can go with a large chandelier that hangs low. Try shopping for wrought iron chandeliers that have ten or more lights. If your room is smaller, look for a fixture that is mounted closer to the ceiling and has six or less lights. You don’t want your fixture to overwhelm the space.

If you are shopping for the bedroom, you might look into a candle chandelier. These are available in many sizes to work well with the size of your room and height of your ceiling. These are particularly nice for the bedroom because they offer a soft and romantic candle style lighting.

For both of these types of chandelier, you will find that most retailers offer you the opportunity to choose from a variety of candle types—pillar style or candelabra style—or shade covers and colors. This is great because you will be able to find a chandelier that coordinates just perfectly with the color scheme and décor style of your space.
